“I’m feeling quite excited about our new ‘Stained Glass Heart’ video. It was shot in Helsinki at an amusement park on a perfectly grey and rainy day, which made it look more like an ‘abusement park’! It turned out very cool and classy” -Michael Monroe
On the live front, MM has revealed plans for an extensive world tour, including Japan, UK and Finland. “Now that the new album is out, we can finally play the new songs live and create a whole new set-list. Spinefarm Records have signed Swedish melodic hard rockers Dynazty. At the moment the band is busy in the studio finalizing their fourth album, titled "Renatus", that will be released early 2014.
in 2009, Stockholm based Dynazty released their debut album and made their first European tour. 2011 the second album "Knock You Down" was #1 on the Sweden's metal charts.
Singer Nils Molin says about the new album and signing to Spinefarm:
This album marks our fourth release as Dynazty but in many ways it feels like our first. After four years, three studio albums and shows on almost every continent of the globe we took the time in late 2012 to really figure out what we wanted this band to be in the future.
Updating ourselves both musically and sonically to a place where we felt that we wanted to be right now was paramount and once we started to write “Renatus” everything fell into place well. Heavier and faster-paced music with big arrangements built around soaring vocal melodies is the recipe for this album and talking about first’s, this is the first album with our new bassplayer and bandmember Jonathan Olsson, the first to be produced by ourselves and the first to be released on Spinefarm, Finland.
Signing to Spinefarm will enable us to work with a label that fully understands our genre and vision and will be able to thoroughly give us the support we need. We are extremely excited to be a part of this label with so many great bands and artists and we believe it will be beneficial on all parts.
Iconic rock ‘n’ roll frontman reveals cover art & track-listing for brand new studio album, ‘Horns And Halos’, out in August 2013 via Spinefarm Records…
Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, uber-energetic front-man & all-round rock ‘n’ roll legend, Michael Monroe, has revealed the album artwork for new studio outing, ‘Horns And Halos’, confirmed for European release on August 23rd, on August 26th in UK and 27th in USA via Spinefarm Records.
The arresting cover art is based on an idea from Swedish guitar star, Dregen, who features in Michael’s current touring & recording line-up…
“I love logotypes that are a ‘little secret’,” says Dregen, “You know, the ones that are more like signs – Van Halen, Crass, HIM’s Heartagram, etc. That was the starting point…”
‘Horns And Halos’ – mixed by Petri Majuri at Seawolf Studios, Finland – is the follow-up to 2011’s critically-acclaimed ‘Sensory Overdrive’, winner of Classic Rock Magazine’s ‘Album Of The Year’ and a No. 1 record in MM’s Finnish homeland.
Monroe’s touring & recording outfit – bassist Sami Yaffa (ex-Hanoi Rocks/New York Dolls), guitarist Steve Conte (ex-New York Dolls/Company Of Wolves), drummer Karl ‘Rockfist’ Rosqvist (ex-Chelsea Smiles/Danzig) and Dregen – have been hard at work in the studio, providing creative support for a frontman whose reputation is genuinely global and whose influence continues to be felt, with musicians of all ages (from Dave Grohl to the original Gun n’ Roses’ members) citing Michael’s ground-breaking career as a source of inspiration.
‘Horns And Halos’ track-listing:
2. Ballad Of The Lower East Side
3. Eighteen Angels
4. Saturday Night Special
5. Stained Glass Heart
6. Horns And Halos
7. Child Of The Revolution

The undisputed champions of 'Swamp Metal' return to the scene with new studio album, 'Seventh Swamphony', the follow-up to 2010's '12 Gauge' release.
After 15 years together, with six full length albums under their collective belt, 2013 sees the Finnish musicians delivering Album No. 7 - an eight-track release showcasing this Oulu outfit's trademark frantic, yet melodic death metal style, tempered here by a new-found 'epic mournfulness'.
Set to be released on June 17th 2013 via Spinefarm Records, 'Seventh Swamphony' was recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi, Finland, and features a selection of brand new tracks, mixed & mastered at Sweden's Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Paradise Lost, etc.)
Antti Kokko, Kalmah's lead guitarist, says:
"This album marks a milestone in our careers. We have a new keyboard player, which has given a fresh edge to the music, and we are of course very satisfied with the new material. That is why we wanted to give the songs the best possible chance without compromise; we feel very lucky and privileged to have worked with Jens Bogren."

BENEA REACH SET TO RELEASE THIRD STUDIO ALBUM, ‘POSSESSION’, IN MARCH + BRAND NEW VIDEO FOR FIRST SINGLE, ‘MOUNTAIN’
Grammy-nominated Norwegian tech-metallers BENEA REACH will release their third full-length offering of epic progressive metal on March 22nd in Finland, on March 25th in rest of Europe and March 26th in USA.
Titled, ‘Possession’, this latest album was produced by Benea Reach & Thomas Wang, then mixed & mastered by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Mnemic, Raunchy) at Antfarm Studio.
Known for his bipolar vocal ability, BR frontman Ilkka Volume veers memorably from low belly-aching screams through to high manic shrieks – almost as if the band had a dual-vocal set-up. He’s excited about the new record, and can’t wait for it to be heard…
“Well, it's our 3rd and, in my eyes, the best yet. Having it released on a label like Spinefarm is great; hopefully, that means it'll reach a lot more people – they'll hear the music, check us out live, enjoy it all and spread the word! Heavy rock is a pretty busy genre at the moment, but I really think people will find something a bit different about us and want to discover more - and, if they can start with this new record, that'd be perfect".
The video for first single, ‘Mountain’, shot in Norway, has been directed & animated by UK-based artist & film-maker Robin Fuller (Feed The Rhino, Hawk Eyes, The Defiled).
BR is currently in the planning stages of a full UK tour for 2013; UK & European festival appearances are also being lined up.
AMARANTHE ANNOUNCES KICK-ASS NEW STUDIO ALBUM, ‘THE NEXUS’ FOR RELEASE ON MARCH
Brand New Single and Music Video for ‘The Nexus’ Available now on VEVO!
Fast-rising modern metal sextet AMARANTHE will release their sophomore album, The Nexus, in Finland March 22nd, internationally on March 25th and in the United States on March 26th via Spinefarm Records.
Produced by Jacob Hansen (whose credits include Volbeat, Dreamshade & Ginger Wildheart, and who worked on AMARANTHE’s 2011 self-titled debut), The Nexus sees the Swedish/Danish outfit further honing a musical style that blends cutting-edge melodic metal with soaring pop melodies, topped off by a unique three-vocal attack.
Says guitarist and band co-founder Olof Morck, “The moment has come to let loose The Nexus on an unsuspecting world! This time we went all the way with our futuristic dream-nightmare - a no-compromise vision steeped in deep contrast between the mechanically ultra-heavy and shimmering serene melody. The Nexus is everything we dreamed about doing with our debut album; we laboured to make this offering as diverse as it is direct and catchy… and remember, no-one can be told what The Nexus is – you have to hear it for yourself!”
A new single/video – title track, The Nexus – became available from all usual outlets/platforms on January 25th. The clip has been directed by Patric Ullaeus, who has worked with names such as In Flames, Arch Enemy and Dimmu Borgir; he was also responsible for AMARANTHE video for ‘The Hunger’, the lead single from the band’s highly successful debut, now at a whopping 3.5 million YouTube views (and counting). Watch the new video on VEVO now at this link.
Olof also states, “We wanted the new video to have a decidedly cinematic feel, in the vein of a Hollywood action movie, with a slightly darker angle than our previous promos. We wanted lots of extras & explosive action scenes, and we knew that Patric was just the man for the job!”
In Support of Album One, which made an international impact right from the start, hitting the charts in several countries, the band played shows around the world, mixing special guest spots (opening for Hammerfall, Kamelot & more) with headline outings and festival appearances; the latter included Loud Park in Japan (where the album has sold in excess of 30,000 copies, topping the Japanese import charts ahead of Lady Gaga!), Bloodstock in the UK, ProgPower in the US and Wacken in Germany…
In Sweden, meanwhile, on the back of unswerving support from Bandit Radio, who presented them with the ‘Breakthrough Artist’ award (one of several on the AMARANTHE mantlepiece), the band played a triumphant homecoming show in August 2012, appearing in front of a 10,000-strong crowd at Liseberg Amusement Park in Gothenburg.
All of which means that The Nexus (the single, the video, the album) is a much-anticipated arrival, but with new tracks such as ‘Afterlife’, ‘Invincible’, ‘Mechanical Illusion’ and likely second single ‘Burn With Me’ showing just how effective the band’s hybrid style can be, 2013 should see AMARANTHE building spectacularly on the international plaudits and successes of the past two years; already, the six have an extensive on-the-road plan locked into place, starting with a run of dates in Finland, followed by a co-headline European tour with Finnish metallers Stratovarius in March; this will see the band visiting 13 different countries, from Slovakia through to Spain, then the spring/summer will be spent at a variety of major European festivals – Sweden Rock, Nova Rock in Austria, Graspop in Belgium, Tuska in Finland, Metaltown & Getaway in Sweden, and more, with the Full Metal Cruise (leaving from Hamburg, Germany) lined up for May.

The Crescent "Risti" - albumi ulkona 2013
Spinefarm Records on kiinnittänyt kotimaisen black metal - bändi The Crescentin, joka aiemmin tunnettiin nimellä Enochian Crescent. Yhtye päätyi vaihtamaan nimeä laulajavaihdoksen myötä. Alusta saakka bändissä mukana ollut solisti Wrath siirtyi bändistä syrjään kesällä 2012 ja tilalle kiinnitettiin Hellwind Tuonenjoki, jota ollaan aiemmin kuultu mm. Sacrilegious Impalement- ja Desolate Shrine – yhtyeiden solistina.
Vuonna 1995 perustettu bändi on julkaissut tähän mennessä kolme täyspitkää albumia. The Crescentin uusi albumi ”Risti” julkaistaan alkuvuonna 2013. Musiikillisessa ilmaisussa yhtye on työntänyt äärirajojaan entistä pidemmälle niin rankempaan kuin herkempäänkin suuntaan.
Uutta materiaalia saadaan kuulla jo joulukuun 21. päivä digitaalisen singlen myötä: kyseessä on kahden biisin single (The Crescent: ”Enochian Crescent”), jossa toisen biisin vetää Enochian Crescent entisen vokalistin kera – toinen puolestaan on The Crescentin uusi biisi.
The Crescent esiintyy ensimmäistä kertaa uudella nimellään Helsingin Nosturissa 21.12.
Viikatteen kokoelmalevy ”Kuutamo, kaiho & katkeruus” on myynyt kultaa, eli löytänyt tiensä jo yli 10 000:een kotitalouteen! Vanhalta haitaritehtaalta tavoitettu yhtye kommentoi näin:"No hittolainen! Jos olisi alkuvuodesta tiennyt, millainen kultasuihku on vuoden loppuun mennessä tiedossa, oltais kyllä käyty valmiiksi sontikkakaupassa. Kiitos kaikille asiaan vaikuttaneille jälleen kerran! Ja keikoillahan myö taas nähdään. Mahtavaa!!!"
