From the album 'PLANETARY BREATHING', out NOW!
Today, GuitarWorld.com presents the exclusive premiere of a new music video by Michael Monroe.
The song, "Stained Glass Heart," is the third single from Monroe's new album, Horns and Halos (Spinefarm Records).
“I'm feeling quite excited about our new ‘Stained Glass Heart’ video,” Monroe says. “It was shot in Helsinki at an amusement park on a perfectly grey and rainy day, which made it look more like an ‘abusement park.’ The video turned out very cool and classy.”

New Single Out November 19 & Touring This Fall
(New York, NY): Estonian folk-metal band Metsatöll will be releasing three albums from their catalog digitally on November 5. The band will release the new single "Lööme Mesti" ("Together") on November 19, which will appear on their upcoming album, due out in March. They will embark on a U.S. tour this fall, so there is plenty of activity in the Metsatöll universe this fall and through the end of 2013.
Albums Äio (2010), Ulg (2011) and Tuska (2012) will see digital release on November 5.
If you're not familiar with this unique and difficult-to-classify band, which is a badge of honor and a nod to their genre-bending, flip-the-script style, here's a brief history lesson.
Their humble beginnings are as such: On February 24, 1999, three men held a meeting at the borders of the Pääsküla bog (Tallinn suburbs), in the singer and guitar player Markus’ basement, one of whom could play a little bit of guitar, another who knew how to play a little bit of drums, and a third who had come up with a sufficiently ancient-sounding name that would be just right for a heavy metal band – "Metsatöll."
The name "Metsatöll" is an ancient Estonian euphemism for wolf.
The thought soon turned into reality and over the next few days four or five songs were composed and a couple of months later, there was an entire album's worth of material
The demo album Terast mis hangunud me hinge was released in the autumn of 1999. Soon afterwards, Lauri joined the band, bringing with him a second guitar, the torupill (bagpipes), kannels, zithers and flutes.
Metsatöll’s current line-up was finalized in 2004, when drummer Atso took up the place behind the kit. That same year, the band crushed all previous sales records for an Estonian metal artist and won Metsatöll the Best Metal Act 2005 award at the Estonian Music Awards ceremony. They have won the award five times in a row.
Metsatöll have toured the U.S. three times prior.
If you've not heard of the band yet, well, now is your chance to expand your sonic palette, as three albums are being issued digitally and they will be touring North American shores through mid-December.

Michael Monroe’s last album, Sensory Overdrive, was a worldwide critical and commercial success. The band’s new album, Horns and Halos, which was released world-wide on August 23 is a cosmopolitan affair, written and recorded around the world by the international posse.
The beating heart of the group consists of bass player, Sami Yaffa, and drummer, Karl Rockfist. Sami and Michael go way back, to the 1980s.
Sami played bass in Hanoi Rocks and started Demolition 23, with Michael. Karl has gone from charging neighborhood kids to see his pre-teen KISS cover project to pounding the skins behind stars, like Glenn Danzig and Joan Osborne.
The band’s six-string guts pack a real punch with Swedish legend Dregen and lead guitarist and primary songwriter, Steve Conte.
I had the pleasure of speaking to the legendary glam rock singer, Michael Monroe, about his latest release and the importance of keeping one’s integrity.

In late October, Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC will embark on their first-ever acoustic concert tour at century-old bú-tik palaces in Taoyuan, Taichung, and Tainan in line with the theme of the band's new album, "Bú-tik".
In fact, CHTHONIC members have visited Bú-tik palaces around Taiwan as they were preparing for "Bú-tik", and it was during the visits that CHTHONIC first had the idea of having acoustic performances in these historic buildings.
"We wanted to perform in Bú-tik palaces so badly, but we were worried that we may damage the historic buildings," bassist Doris Yeh said. "So we came up with the idea to specially design acoustic concerts for the historic buildings."
In preparation for the acoustic tour, CHTHONIC members have been rearranging songs and repeatedly practicing.
"This is the hardest tour at all. We don't just rearrange the songs, we also have to rearrange our personalities," said lead vocalist Freddy Lim. "We normally just can't stay still, but this is a good chance for us to find our interior calmness," Dani Wang, the drummer, said.
CHTHONIC invited the band Chocolate Tiger, led by their good friend Enno Cheng, as the opening guest, while also inviting popular folk singers as special guests at each of the concert. Two of the guests will be Lin Sheng-xiang and Panai, while the CHTHONIC decides to keep the name of the third guest as a surprise for their fans.
"We can't wait to see these master musicians to perform CHTHONIC music!" Doris said.
To make sure that the historic buildings will remain intact, CHTHONIC will sell combo tickets for the concert, which will include a pair of "Bú-tik" socks and a bamboo seat cushion, so that fans may take off their shoes and put on the socks at the entrance, and sit comfortably on the cushion.
A short clip of an acoustic version of "Set Fire to the Island" can be seen below.
Following the unplugged tour in Taiwan, CHTHONIC will be traveling to Europe in early November to join the Norwegian band SATYRICON for a two-month European tour.
