Deals Death Unleash "Point Zero Solution"
Dark times are close indeed. For too long have mankind suffered under the rules of the Elite. It is time to spread the word of their Point Zero Solution.
Masterminded by award winning director Patric Ullaeus (www.revolver.se); today Deals Death unveil the official music video for ‘Point Zero Solution’, the title track of their upcoming and much anticipated album. ‘Point Zero Solution’ will be released via Spinefarm Records on the 17th of September.
Guitarist and song composer Erik Jacobson comments, “Point Zero Solution introduces the factors that lie behind a weakened society, a failed state. The lyrics deal with our human behaviour and our quest for comfort and luxury, at any cost.”
A prevailing theme throughout, vocalist and lyricist Olle Ekman comments on the album as a whole. “It’s a step-by-step description of the process which breaks down the systems of nature and society, our false hopes, our credulity towards authority and the belief in eternal growth.”

Today Loudwire offers up an exclusive premiere of "Set Fire to the Island," the latest music video from Taiwanese metal legion CHTHONIC.
Directed by Hoiji Huang and Alulu Kuo, the track comes by way of the band's recently released Bú-Tik studio offering, features stunning live footage from last year's Mass Battle concert in Taiwan and serves as a teaser for their pending Next Republic Asia Tour 2013.
Notes bassist Doris Yeh: "This is the live video we shot when we first played the song. It's the most exciting song to play off the entire album! It has now become a 'tradition' for the fans in Taiwan to come to our show with ghost money, they throw in the air to show respect and release all kinds of their emotions. When I see the ghost money thrown in the air, sometimes the scenery before my eyes seems like a dream."

CHTHONIC released their seventh studio recording, Bú-Tik,in North America via Spinefarm Records US June 25, 2013. Bú-Tik was recorded at Sweden's Sweetspot Studio by producer Rickard Bengtson, who also worked on 2011's critically-lauded Takasago Army full-length. Called "a masterful and elegant tradition served underneath soaring thrash-influenced guitars, pummeling drums and a vocal performance that is absolutely stellar from an overlooked vocalist," by About.com, Bú-Tik is centered around the story of the 228 Massacre, the Bú-Tik Palace and the Mirror Of Retribution, and highlights what bassist Doris Yeh describes as "righteous violence, justifiable defense, and the armed spirits." The cover image depicts the fighting spirit of a girl with albinism.

"'Next Republic' and 'Supreme Pain for the Tyrant' demand your attention from the start, only to blow you away with an epic and memorable chorus. The soaring emotional register of 'Between Silence and Death' is unforgettable. And the female vocal parts, though used sparingly, sound exquisite in 'Set Fire to the Island' and 'Defenders of Butik Palace.' Bú-Tik is a solid album which will earn CHTHONIC many new symphonic oriental fans without alienating the band's long-time following. 8/10" - Metal Injection
"...a solid album full of epic moments. Fans of symphonic or melodic death metal are likely to enjoy it, as Chthonic have yet again delivered a unique and memorable album that no other band could have made." - HeavyBlogIsHeavy
"Seediq Bale was no fluke. Despite the different sound, Chthonic show that they are more than capable of putting out another fantastic effort that can compete with the greats of their back catalogue. 4/5" - Sputnik Music
"Symphonic black metal gets an oriental overhaul for a fantastic result.4/5" - Metal Underground

Another is badass harmonica player of which his talents shine on his newest single “Eighteen Angels,” set for release August 20. The second single from his upcoming studio album HORNS AND HALOS--due out August 27--via Spinefarm Records made its debut today on Noisecreep. Listen to the track here:

Swedish Deals Death will release a new album 'Point Zero Solution' via Spinefarm Records on the 17th of September!
The world isn’t going to end, it’s only becoming a horrific and gruesome place to inhabit. On September 17 Deals Death will give you the details of this event as we release our third album on Universal/Spinefarm.
Follow this step-by-step description of the process which breaks down the systems of nature and society.
This album contains 11 songs packed with a lyrical edge, delivered with all our blood, sweat and toil!
The story of melodic death metallers DEALS DEATH began in a music college called Boomtown, where guitarist Erik Jacobson met a couple of other students. With some twisty bits in the story later, with which we need not bother, the band released their self-financed debut "Internal Demons" in 2009 to raving reviews.
In 2009 Deals Death recruited new members in Gothenburg and based there to stay. The second album, "Elite", was recorded in May 2010 in Gothenburg and mixed by Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry). “Elite” became their label debut and was released in March of 2012 via Finland's metal powerhouse Spinefarm Records. A promo video was shot for the song “Fortified” and released in April 2011. The clip made some waves on the metal scene (surpassing already half a million views) and then, a fortuitous bounce launched Deals Death to a larger than just metal audience, when vocalist Olle Ekman's “Death Metal Vocal Exercises” video became a surprise YouTube hit.
Now, after five years of hard work and dedication, Deals Death has earned their name in the world of metal with tours in Sweden, Finland, Japan and the UK, sharing stages with bands such as Scar Symmetry, Hypocrisy and Dark Tranquillity and making appearances at numerous festivals such as House Of Metal, Rockstad Falun & Sweden Rock; Deals Death have just started to reveal the tip of the iceberg to their potential.

Spinefarm Records are delighted to announce their latest signing to the roster - DECADE, who join the roster of acts including Killing Joke, Turbogeist and Michael Monroe amongst others. After doing it for themselves since their inception, the quintet are excited to take it to the next level with this revered label - "Signing to Spinefarm/Universal is a huge opportunity for us and a massive step up. We're so stoked to get to work with everyone at the label and can't wait for our existing and new fans to hear everything we've been working so hard on."
Leo Nicholas (Spinefarm Records Label Manager) enthuses - "Decade have been blasting from my car, headphones and (as the office can testify) my speakers religiously since being sent their album demos earlier this year and it is always a privilege to help develop the career of such exciting, homegrown talent. 2014 will be a BIG year for Decade."
Decade’s drive to escape dreary English suburbia fuels their unique, rampaging, and faultlessly executed brand of hooky melodic goodness. Debut EP ‘Lost At Sea’ gained a cult following with its tales of love, life, growing up and losing out set to an unforgiving guitar assault shot through with slices of suburban restlessness and the band quickly followed it with 2012’s Self Titled EP which Rock Sound awarded 8/10 and hailed as a collection of “positively enormous anthems”.
The second season of Taiwan’s professional baseball games kicked off on July 5, with CHTHONIC being invited by Brother Elephants as guests of honor to throw the first pitch. Because a thunderstorm in the afternoon had delayed preparation work for the equipment, CHTHONIC had to, nervously, perform the CHTHONIC version of Queen’s We Are the Champions without any soundcheck. Fortunately, CHTHONIC was able to complete the mission and heated up the stadium. The each of the five CHTHONIC members wore baseball uniforms specially designed for each to throw the ceremonial first pitch, and the sexy uniform of Doris triggered a round of screaming and cheering from the crowd, showing her popularity.
The team Brother Elephants said that they have always wanted to invite CHTHONIC to throw the first pitch, hence, it contacted CHTHONIC right after the band returned from Download Festival in the UK, and the two sides reached the deal immediately. To maximize the effect of the “metal and baseball” combination, CHTHONIC was invited to make a performance in addition to the first pitch. For the past month, band members have worked hard to brainstorm on the opening performance. CHTHONIC band leader Doris said that, at first, they wanted to do Take Me Out to the Ball Game, but all the variations that CHTHONIC rearranged sounded like children’s songs, so they eventually decided to work on We Are the Champions.
Guitarist Jesse praised the change, because it was much easier to rearrange the song—it took CHTHONIC only a week to rearrange it, but the end product and the feedback from the audience were beyond their expectation. “Maybe we should release an Single,” Jesse said.
CHTHONIC members were excited about being invited as guests of honor, and arrived early at the stadium to practice pitching. In fact, among the five members, only the keyboardist CJ had played baseball as a kid, while the rest have only been “involved” in baseball as fans. However, when asked who pitched the best, CJ pointed to Doris. “Who else would it be, when even popular baseball star and national team player Peng Cheng-min said Doris pitched better than any other guests of honor?” CJ said.
“I guess I could say that I’ve played in the professional league since I’ve thrown the first pitch,” said Freddy, a loyal baseball fan who has once served as administrator for Brother Elephants fan page. “This is something I wouldn't even have imagined in my dreams.”
CHTHONIC has just released its latest album Bú-Tik worldwide in June, and the cover image of the album shows the fighting spirit of a girl with albinism. When performing and throwing the first pitch at the opening ceremony of the game season, CHTHONIC invited people with albinism to watch the game. “I hope everyone would be highly spirited, and fight to the end as players do on the baseball field,” Freddy said.
Special Exhibit Opens This Week In Taiwan!
Six designers from the famous Taiwanese artist group, Yamyoukan, have completed a book entitled Unsealing the Bú-Tik, which transforms classic scenes in stories recounted via CHTHONIC’s albums into striking illustrations.
The 32-page Unsealing the Bú-Tik recounts many exciting CHTHONIC tales including the headhunt from the album Seediq Bale, the departure of the Takasago Army from Takasago Army, the final battle at Sing Ling Temple also from Takasago Army as well as Mirror of Retribution, and the travel through time and space in the underworld from CHTHONIC’s latest work, Bú-Tik. Artists who took part in the project, all of whom have had all have had several exhibitions of their own works, include PAPARAYA, KCN, mos, Blaze Wu, Kuki, and Pump. In addition, the book features drawings by bassist Doris Yeh, vocalist Freddy Lim and drummer Dani Wang.
“It has always been our dream to turn the stories in our music into images. I feel so moved as I hold this illustrated book that has just been published in hand,” said Yeh. “I’m really grateful that Yamyoukan invited us to take part in the creation, so that I could pick up the pen again and reunite with my passion for drawing,” added Wang, a fan of comics since he was a child.
With the release of Unsealing the Bú-Tik, CHTHONIC and Yamyoukan will hold exhibitions in Kaohsiung and Taipei. Fans can order the book online at THIS LOCATION.
CHTHONIC’s seventh studio recording, Bú-Tik, was recorded at Sweden’s Sweetspot Studio by producer Rickard Bengtson, who also worked on 2011’s critically-lauded Takasago Army full-length. Centered around the story of the 228 Massacre, the Bú-Tik Palace and the Mirror Of Retribution, Bú-Tik highlights what bassist Doris Yeh describes as “righteous violence, justifiable defense, and the armed spirits!”

"A timely reminder why KILLING JOKE continue to be held in such high esteem," notes Drowned In Sound, The Singles Collection 1979-2012 captures the band's mammoth, ever-evolving legacy with a series of dark, apocalyptic songs that have successfully combined disco, funk and shamanic wisdom with the dark side of punk rock. The Singles Collection 1979-2012 delivers thirty-three career-spanning singles over two CDs with an additional third disc of rarities which includes previously unreleased studio tracks. The three-CD version will be limited in number, reverting to two CDs containing the singles tracks.
Notes Sea of Tranquility, "The Singles Collection 1979 - 2012 is an excellent place to start with all the KILLING JOKE the casual fan would ever require and I recommend the version with the rarities which is a limited edition. See if you can spot the ways in which this highly influential band has influenced groups as diverse as Nirvana, Fear Factor, Faith No More, Opeth and many more."
Adds BrooklynVegan, "KILLING JOKE is, like many of the great bands of our time, unique and generally unclassifiable. Punk in both ethos and origin, the UK band has dipped its toe in industrial, metal, funk and dance music in their close-to-35-year career, carving out their own niche and more importantly their own sound."

According to vocalist Freddy Lim, ‘Sail Into The Sunset’s Fire’ recounts the story of pirates in East Asia in the Age Of Exploration: “We’re not encouraging kidnapping or robbery, but the challenge to conventional authority here is indeed inspiring. According to historical accounts, the pirates—who came from islands between Japan & Indonesia—had planned to overthrow the Ming Empire of China and the Tokugawa Shogunate of Japan, and some of them eventually settled along Taiwan’s western coast…”
